And then how to represent them visually. There are two basic choices: the character’s view on law versus chaos and good versus evil. Both options also have a middle-ground of neutral. Plot these choices on a grid, and there are nine possibilities for your character’s “alignment.” Thinking about what “lawful” or “chaos” might look like was challenging and great fun.
